Cardiff based spatial audio collective focusing on bringing people together for listening, learning, performing and discussions around immersive audio.

OPEN CALL: Immersive Audio Exhibition at FDUK 2026

Deadline 7th September

LISTENING SESSIONS

Each of the Spatial Gathering listening session are curated listening experience, bringing together live performances, fixed media, and composed works designed specifically for spatial sound systems. The Spatial Gatherings are a space to sit, listen deeply, and experience audio beyond the stereo field.

Each month is based around a different theme, inviting new ways of performing, listening and experiencing music. For our first gathering, we’ll be focusing on soundscapes and field recordings. Together, we’ll explore works by practitioners pushing the boundaries of spatial audio, crafting pieces for ambisonic environments and 8-channel systems. Expect rich environmental textures, immersive sonic narratives, and compositions that blur the line between documentation and art. Whether you’re a sound artist, producer, or simply curious about spatial listening, this is an opportunity to connect, discover, and experience sound in a new dimension.

We’re also committed to making spatial audio more accessible. These sessions are designed to be welcoming to both newcomers and experienced listeners, with an emphasis on demystifying multichannel sound and creating a comfortable, inclusive listening environment.

These Spatial Gatherings would not happen without the support of Paradise Garden, an independent venue in Roath.
